Art: Tie-Dye Butterfly

You’ll need:
1 clothespin
1 coffee filter
Food coloring
1 dropper
Water
Small bowls
1 pipe cleaner cut in half
1 black marker
Unwanted newspaper

How to:

  1. Lay newspaper across your working area.
  2. Fill small bowls half full of water.
  3. Add two drops of food coloring in each dish.
  4. Place a coffee filter on the newspaper.
  5. Dip the dropper in the desired colored water. Pinch the top once in the water. Then drop the color on the coffee filter. Watch how the color soaks in.
  6. Continue to “paint” with the water and dropper until the entire coffee filter is covered.
  7. Let dry.
  8. Once dry, attach the clothespin at the middle of the coffee filter.
  9. Cut the pipe cleaner in half, making two smaller pipe cleaners. Glue these on top of the clothespin for antennas.
  10. With the black marker, draw a happy face on your clothespin butterfly!
